Course information

T Levels are advanced technical qualifications, equivalent to three A Levels, that combine classroom-based study with practical industry placements. These qualifications are designed to equip you with the essential skills and knowledge needed for a successful career.

At Stoke Climsland, you have the opportunity to study a T Level in Livestock Production (Agriculture). This program provides a comprehensive understanding of the technical skills and techniques required for animal husbandry. You will learn about the breeding, rearing, and production of livestock to high standards, with a strong emphasis on welfare and safety. The course is ideal for both school leavers and students who have successfully completed a Level 2 qualification.

Stoke Climsland has a proud tradition of delivering high-quality land-based education. You will gain practical experience on a working farm, ensuring you develop the skills necessary for a career in livestock production and farm management.

At Stoke Climsland, the T Level in Livestock Production (Agriculture) covers key areas of livestock management, including breeding, rearing, and optimising production to meet high welfare and safety standards. Students will learn to maintain the environments where livestock are kept and gain insights into various roles within agriculture.

The course also includes modules on health and safety, biosecurity, animal handling, and nutrition. Additionally, students will explore business practices, communication skills, and sustainability within the agricultural sector, preparing them for successful careers in livestock management and farm operations.

Please note: Some of our courses may have extra entry requirements or need a bit more information, like evidence or experience. Don't worry—we’ll guide you through everything when you apply!

As part of the course, you are required to complete an Industry Placement with an employer in the agriculture sector. This key element of the qualification provides valuable hands-on experience and a clear insight into the type of work you can expect to pursue once you complete your studies.

The core components of the T-Level in Agriculture are assessed through two comprehensive exams, ensuring a strong grasp of essential agricultural knowledge. You will also complete an externally set project, where you will apply your learning to real-world agricultural scenarios. A separate synoptic assessment will evaluate your ability to combine practical skills with theoretical understanding, showcasing your overall competency in the field.

To earn the qualification, you must complete a minimum of 315 hours in an industry placement, gaining valuable hands-on experience and insight into the agricultural sector. This combination of assessments and practical training prepares you thoroughly for future academic or professional opportunities in agriculture.
