If you are passionate about a career in the Armed Forces or Emergency Services and would love a job where everyday matters, then taking a step in the right direction on our Military and Protective Services (MAPS) course is the right choice for you.
The first thing you’ll notice about this course is that it’s about practical learning, physical fitness, mental resilience and career exploration – you’ll be spending a lot of time outdoors exploring our amazing campus and excellent facilities.
You’ll be exposed to a wide range of Uniformed Services employers and experience life in uniform daily at college and during your visits to numerous armed forces and emergency services training establishments.
Our training wing features industry-standard equipment and a disciplined environment, exactly like an initial phase one training establishment. We have a strong collaborative relationship with the Royal Marines, British Army, Royal Navy, Royal Air Force, Police, Fire Service, Prison Services and Private Security organisations. As a Level 2 course, this diploma is all about introducing you to the uniformed services industry and developing your essential skills. You’ll be learning from highly experienced armed forces and emergency services professionals, who are there to give you the very best start to your career. Completion of our level 2 will enable progression onto our flagship level 3 service preparation course.
By gaining an introduction to service careers, developing your teamwork and physical fitness and your self-confidence you will be prepared for the more specialised command and control, leadership and physical and mental resilience elements of further qualifications.
• Three or more GCSEs at Grade 3 or above, or successful completion of a relevant Level 1 qualification.
Entry requirements for existing learners with the Cornwall College Group
• Successful completion of previous course and, where relevant, progress in maths and/or English.
