Developing Progression Skills
The Developing Progression Skills course is part of our Progress Pathway and supports students with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND) to further develop independent learning and life skills and applying these to a range of vocational subjects.
Learners will be supported to develop their key progression skills (such as communication, working with others, problem
solving, study skills and life skills) so they are well prepared to continue with further vocational study or progress to work.
Our vision is to support you to be INDEPENDENT, CONFIDENT and RESILIENT so that you are well-prepared for your next steps.
What you will learn
Within this pathway you will focus on developing your personal progression skills ready for the next stage of your learning. This will include a focus on communication skills, working with others, problem solving, employability and life skills. Learners will be able to take part in a range of vocational options to be able to put these skills into practice and progress within them.
Entry requirements
No formal entry requirements but will be suitable for young people with an EHCP (Educational, Health, Care Plan) and/or SEND (Special Educational Needs and Disabilities) working towards entry level 3.
Assessment
You will study a nationally accredited vocational qualification at entry level 3. English and maths will also be delivered within your course through a Functional Skills qualification at a level appropriate to you.
Progression
Once you have completed this pathway, you may wish to progress on to other courses within Foundation Learning such as Vocational Studies or a Supported Internship.
