Duchy College’s Georgia Pollard, a Horticulture and Landscape apprentice with Falmouth Town Council, is blossoming in her field of work.
Recently, Georgia was named one of the winners at the Cornwall Apprenticeship Awards in the Land-Based Apprentice of the Year category.

This prestigious awards ceremony, hosted by Truro and Penwith College, celebrates outstanding apprentices from across Cornwall, and Georgia’s achievement highlights her dedication and passion for her job.
Studying at Duchy College Rosewarne has provided Georgia with the knowledge and hands-on experience needed to excel in her apprenticeship.
Her role with Falmouth Town Council has allowed her to apply her learning in real-world settings, showcasing her skills and creativity.

One of her standout projects was designing and curating a wildflower bed for Falmouth Cemetery, a cherished nature reserve in the area.
Reflecting on this opportunity, Georgia shared: “During my apprenticeship with Falmouth Town Council, I was given the opportunity to design some wildlife bedding for the cemetery in Falmouth, an important nature reserve in the area.”
Her success is thanks to the incredible opportunities available through apprenticeship career routes.
By combining classroom learning with practical experience, apprentices like Georgia can make a meaningful impact in their communities while developing essential skills for their future careers.
