Course information
This course is suitable for horse owners wishing to learn about applying first aid to their horse. Students will learn how to assess basic health, and recognise when the horse is in poor-health: covering signs and symptoms, TPR (temperature, pulse and respiration), wounds, common ailments, lumps and bumps, and what to have in your vet kit. If you are unsure how to recognise the signs of illness or what to do while awaiting a vet, then this course is suitable for you.
Please ensure that you come wearing suitable clothing and yard footwear. Please also bring a riding hat and gloves for handling horses.
This course is not suitable for complete novices- you must have some experience of handling horses to participate.
Please note: This course is for adults aged 19+ only and will run from 09:00-16:00.
