Introduction to Equine Anatomy for HE

Introduction to Working with Horses Understanding your horse’s kinetic chain enables you to harness their ability more effectively, at all levels of work and competition.

Consideration of routine activities, such as feeding or leading the horse and how this may impact on the horse’s health, allows us to improve our care provision.

An Introduction to Equine Anatomy facilitates a biomechanical insight in a fun and informative way to enhance your knowledge of the equine musculoskeletal system from an anatomical perspective, as well as prepare you for further learning.

What you will learn

This course will be delivered using a wide range of anatomical specimens to aid your understanding of nature’s support mechanisms.

Students will learn about the equine musculoskeletal system, anatomy of the lower limb to include dissection, how your horse moves, where stressors could occur, husbandry, and ridden procedures that could be adversely affecting your horse.
