An Introduction to Working Horses from the Ground

Lungeing or long reining is an essential exercise to train and develop a horse’s way of going.

As a groom, rider or trainer you will be expected to carry out non-ridden exercise and training as part of your job. On the course you will go through correct tacking up for lungeing and long reining, watch demonstrations by the equestrian centre team, and then have a go yourself.

You will learn about safe practices and how to control the horse with voice commands and body language. This course is suitable for those wishing to develop their skills and work towards industry exams or just starting to work horses from the ground.

- How to use voice commands and body language correctly when working horses from the ground

Entry requirements
