Course information
The course will start with an introduction to the safe working practices on the Equestrian Centre.
You will be introduced to the signs of good health in horses and the normal parameters and undertake health checks yourself on the college horses.
Common ailments and injures in horses will be covered followed by a practical session on using first aid techniques such as bandaging and applying a poultice. When to call the vet will also be part of this session.
During the day you will also undertake daily care tasks to maintain the health of horses including grooming and handling.
