RHS Advanced Certificate In Practical Horticulture
A practical-based qualification to improve the horticultural skills needed for career development to supervisory or management roles, or to further develop your interest. This course is ideal if you are self employed within horticulture and would like a formal qualification.

What you will learn
Propagation (seed sowing and a range of cutting types)
Soil preparation and planting
Pruning, soil testing and grafting.
You are also required to identify a wide range of plants and seeds by their botanical names, plus pests and diseases by their common names.
Entry requirements
to have completed the RHS level 2 practical certificate, have an equivalent qualification or have relevant experience.
Assessment
To achieve this level 3 practical certificate you will need to complete all of the practical tests and identification tests and under pinning knowledge assessment proformas in the form of short reports and risk assessments. This will involve some research and an element of homework.
Progression
You may wish to consider a HNC/HND/BSc in Horticulture at Eden Project Learning, where you can study plant science or garden design.
