Foundation Learning: Independence Pathway
Are you looking to develop your independence skills? Our Foundation Learning: Independence Pathway will support you with developing your independence skills.
This programme will support you with your transition to adulthood, with a clear focus on developing your personal progress in this area and combining some elements of landbased studies.
You’ll be attending college for three (3) days a week.
Our vision is to support you to be INDEPENDENT, CONFIDENT and RESILIENT so that you are well-prepared to engage with the wider community.

What you will learn
Within this pathway you will focus on developing your independence and you could also develop your vocational skills. We will support you in developing your skills in using English and maths too. Aside from the academic skills, we will work with you to develop a range of social and interaction skills to help prepare you for your next steps.
Entry requirements
There are no formal entry requirements for this programme.
Assessment
You will be assessed through a range of practical, written and oral assessments on a range of independence tasks and vocational subjects. You will be working towards an entry level Skills for Life qualification. English and maths will also be delivered within your course through a City & Guilds Functional Skills qualification at a level appropriate to you.
Progression
On successful completion of this programme, you may to progress onto our Foundation Learning: Skills Pathway or into independent/supported living.
