Course information
The FL Independence Pathway develops your independence and pre-vocational skills that will support your transition to adulthood.
On this pathway you will work towards individual personal targets linked to different areas of independence and vocation, which may include:
Vocational learning linked to land-based activities;
Learning to travel by bus or train;
Independent living at home, e.g. basic home cooking skills or keeping the home clean and tidy;
Independent living in the community, which may include learning to go shopping or going to a restaurant;
Personal development, such as learning to keep safe and the importance of staying healthy.
We will work with you, your parents and carers in designing your programme of study, setting your targets and assessing progress inside and outside of College.
Our vision is to support you to be INDEPENDENT, CONFIDENT AND RESILIENT so that you are well-prepared to engage with the wider community. The Personal Progress Towards Independence course is a great way to develop in all of these areas.
